Eet
Regina Spektor's "Eet"
WHY IT MADE THE LIST:
I chose this song because the lyrics speak about how
hard it can be to get back on your feet after a tragedy.
"Eet" is referring to the attempt to slide back into
one's regular beat in life.
Lyrics:
It’s like forgetting the words to your favorite song
You can’t believe it
You were always singing along
It was so easy and the words so sweet
You can’t remember
You try to feel the beat
Eet, eet, eet, eet
Eet, eet, eet, eet
You spent half of your life trying to fall behind
You’re using your headphones to drown out your mind
It was so easy, and the words so sweet
You can’t remember
You try to move your feet
Eet, eet, eet, eet
Eet, eet, eet, eet
Someone’s deciding whether or not to steal
He opens the window just to feel the chill
He hears that outside a small boy just starting to cry
‘Cause it’s his turn but his brother won’t let him try
It’s like forgetting the words to your favorite song
You can’t believe it
You were always singing along
It was so easy and the words so sweet
You can’t remember
You try to move your feet
It was so easy and the words so sweet
You can’t remember, you try to feel the beat
You were always singing along
It was so easy and the words so sweet
You can’t remember
You try to feel the beat
Eet, eet, eet, eet
Eet, eet, eet, eet
You spent half of your life trying to fall behind
You’re using your headphones to drown out your mind
It was so easy, and the words so sweet
You can’t remember
You try to move your feet
Eet, eet, eet, eet
Eet, eet, eet, eet
Someone’s deciding whether or not to steal
He opens the window just to feel the chill
He hears that outside a small boy just starting to cry
‘Cause it’s his turn but his brother won’t let him try
It’s like forgetting the words to your favorite song
You can’t believe it
You were always singing along
It was so easy and the words so sweet
You can’t remember
You try to move your feet
It was so easy and the words so sweet
You can’t remember, you try to feel the beat

About Me
About Us
What is music without words?
Even those songs that leave us with nothing but different sounds, they still paint a picture in our minds and hearts, leaving behind a legacy, a story
once heard. An impression is made and there's no going back
Dj Dostoy believed in a man's words and felt for his stories
so he chose to stand behind his name, Dostoyevsky. His words portrayed human nature and emotion in both suffering and joy. Lyrics and music in songs also strive to portray these elements of life.
For Madame Cymbeline, music is an expression of something deeper and
something felt but not always readily understood.
She chose a name that came from a man who created something deeper
and full of passion and which is commonly misunderstood, Shakespheare.
What we like most about music is that it is not always what it seems. To one person a song could mean something entirely different than it does to the person standing beside them. Music is abut life and a reaction to living that life. Perhaps a chance to let go and be free to feel something different or a time to reflect on the past while looking ahead to the future.
This can be done through rock, pop, classical, indie, broadway musical, and all kinds of genres. All of which will probably make it on here.
This is our music.
Enjoy,
DJ Dostoy and Madam Cybeline
